The Normandy BeachesThis was the loneliest place in the world on D-Day, no matter how many men were there. Every soldier had to face his own doubts and fears alone. The location of this landing craft is not given, but this bleak view is emblematic of what any soldier, American, British, Canadian, or Free French confronted on the 6th of June.
